Welcome to Crochets
Draw a pattern. See how it will look before you buy the yarn.
Stitch Library
Tap any stitch for its steps and video. Names follow your US terms setting.
Pattern Decoder
Confused by stars, brackets and the number at the end? Paste one row or round from any pattern. You get it in plain words, drawn out in stitch symbols, with the stitch count checked.
Loading the decoder…
It reads the line with the rules patterns are written by and never guesses: a part it cannot read is shown as not understood. Left-handed? The words are the same for you. You work each row in the opposite direction.
What's this stitch?
Take or upload a photo of any crochet and Crochets tells you which stitch it is, then opens the lesson so you can make it. Works on finished pieces too.
The photo is analysed, not stored. Best on a clear, close-up shot.

Pattern Reader
A hands-free way to follow a pattern while you crochet.
- Pick a pattern below: one of the two samples, any design you make in the Pattern Designer, or paste a pattern you are following from a book, a PDF or a blog.
- Tap a row to tick it off. The reader remembers your place, so you can put your phone down and pick up exactly where you were.
- Hover or tap the dotted words to see what the short name stands for, and switch US / UK terms any time.
- Toggle Chart to see your design as crochet symbols instead of words.
This sample is here so you can learn how the reader works. Design something of your own and it shows up in the list above.
Pattern Designer
Tell us the size and the yarn and we'll do the maths: your chain, your rows, your yarn. Then paint the stitches and see the fabric. Granny squares, circles and amigurumi are under In the round. C2C, tapestry, filet, mosaic and Tunisian are under Colour and grid charts, and sized hats and pullovers under Garments.

Yarn weight
Main stitch
Your gauge swatch optional: for exact sizing
Crochet a 10×10 cm (4×4 in) square in your main stitch, then count. Leave empty to use averages for your yarn weight.
For an exact yarn amount, weigh that swatch. Kitchen scales are fine. With its weight and the numbers on the ball band, we know how much yarn your own hands use per stitch, so nothing is estimated.
Your pattern
Pick a stitch, then paint it on
You work one row at a time, from the bottom up, the way a piece is crocheted. Tap or drag on the highlighted row to set its stitches, then tap Next row. To go back to a row, tap its number.

Price It
Stop underpricing. Materials + your time × fair markup = a price that pays you.
Worked example below. Type your own numbers.
Tip: labor is 60–80% of a fair handmade price. Never price from yarn cost alone.
ⓘ A suggestion, not a promise. This calculator shows a fair price based on your own inputs. It's not a guarantee that any item will sell, or sell at this price. Markets, seasons and audiences vary; the final price is always your decision.
